What is Arbovita?

Arbovita is a tree native to China, and has a history of being used both topically and internally in traditional Chinese medicine. Arborvita is a slow-growing evergreen tree that thrives in cold, drier climates of Northwest China. The flat fir leaves of this tree are used medicinally in traditional Chinese medicine.

What are the health benefits of Arbovita?
Traditional Chinese medicine uses arbovita to remedy many different bleeding disorders that are caused by heat in the body, including coughing up or vomiting of blood, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, heavy menstrual bleeding, and blood in the stool or urine. Arbovita can also help stop coughs, especially a cough with phlegm. Arbovita is sometimes ground into a powder to be applied externally to mild burns. Also, alopecia, or hair loss, is often treated with a topical application of arbovita leaf.

Are there any precautions for taking Arbovita?

An overdose of arbovita could cause nausea, vomiting, and dizziness.
