What are Chaulmoogra Seeds?
Chaulmoogra seeds are used primarily in Chinese medicine. They come from the tall chaulmoogra tree that grows in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Good quality specimens of this herb are large and white with an oily texture.

What are the health benefits of Chaulmoogra Seeds?
Chaulmoogra seeds contain strongly antibacterial chemicals. The seeds are primarily used externally to treat conditions on the skin, such as hives, scabies, tinea (including ringworm), and leprosy.

What are the guidelines for taking Chaulmoogra Seeds?

Chaulmoogra seeds are almost always used externally. They can sometimes be purchased as chaulmoogra oil, but can also be mashed together to make a poultice. When used to treat hives, 30 grams of chaulmoogra seeds are combined with 15 grams of garlic, boiled in 3/4 cup water, and applied topically once cool.

Chaulmoogra seeds may also be take internally as a tea or in capsule form for parasites, but is very toxic and should only be done under the supervision of an experienced, licensed practitioner.

Are there any precautions for taking Chaulmoogra Seeds?
Chaulmoogra seeds are very toxic when taken internally. More than 1 gram of chaulmoogra seeds can result in vomiting, dizziness, chest pain, and headache.
