What is L-Carnitine?
L-Carnitine is an amino acid that is produced by the liver and kidneys. One of its primary functions is to transport fatty acids for the generation of metabolic energy, which allows it to regulate fat metabolism. It is also known to improve glucose disposal, act as an antioxidant against certain forms of oxidative stress, and reduce activities that are destructive to the maintenance of bone mass. L-Carnitine is believed to increase energy levels for long-term aerobic activity and is thought to be necessary for good health.

What are the health benefits of L-Carnitine?
L-Carnitine helps to support healthy glucose levels, and therefore is often used as part of a treatment therapy for diabetes. It is also used to reverse and prevent heart disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, and low energy symptoms. Along with being available as a supplement, L-Carnitine is found in beef, bacon and other pork products, tempeh and other fermented soy products, whole milk and other dairy products, and avocados.
