What is Red Clover?
Red clover is a perennial plant that is native to Europe, Western Asia, and Northwestern Africa, though it now grows in many parts across the world. It is used as a manure crop and is grown for its ability to increase soil fertility. The leaves can be used as a vegetable and prepared in a similar fashion to spinach. The plant is used in salads and soups; a tea is made from the plant’s flower. The plant is also used for infusing a vanilla flavor into cakes.
