Acupuncture for myopia?

Q: Dear Dr. Mao,
I have been refused treatment by an acupuncturist for myopia because at 19 because I am no longer a child. If 19 is too old for treatment, is there a way that myopia can be reduced or eye problems relieved?

A: I am surprised that you were refused a treatment. On occasion a physician may feel unable to offer proper treatment; in this case, I suggest you obtain a second opinion and see other practitioners.

Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture can assist in eye and vision disorders. You may find a licensed practitioner at: www.acupuncture.com
