Food sources of zinc?

Q: Dear Dr. Mao,
Can you list for me some of the sources of food from which to get zinc?

A: Some foods rich in zinc are: oysters, pumpkin seeds, red meat, poultry, pork, beans, lentils, nuts, whole grains, summer squash, spinach, asparagus, and broccoli.

Overall, zinc absorption is greater from a diet high in animal protein than a vegetarian diet rich in plant proteins.
