Ways to lower levels of triglycerides and cholesterol?

Q: Dear Dr. Mao,
My husband has very high triglycerides (in the 800’s) and cholesterol (in the 300’s). The medications he is given lower them a little. What can he do from the traditional Chinese medical perspective to lower these?
